after moving to brisbane, australia in the mid-1880s, friström married margaret johnston of south brisbane in 1886. this period marked the beginning of a significant chapter in his life, with the couple having three children together. * **teaching and exhibitions**: in 1903, upon moving to auckland, new zealand, friström taught at the elam school of fine arts and exhibited his works with the auckland society of artists.**the californian era (1915 - 1950)**
