upon his return to brazil, aldo shared a studio with fellow artists, forming the influential grupo santa helena. he began teaching at the escola livre de artes plásticas in 1949 and became a pioneer of brazilian abstract art. notably, aldo worked as a costume designer for nydia lícia & sérgio cardoso company and in two films by walter hugo khoury.
