About the artist, Albert Lang

Albert Lang

Albert Lang

The Architect of Light and Shadow The path of Albert Lang did not begin with the brush, but with the precise, structured lines of architecture. Born in 1847, he first sought to understand the world through the rigid geometry of buildings, studying in his home town before moving to the Berlin Bauakademie. It was there, under the guidance of Heinrich Strack, that the foundations of his future vision were laid. However, a change in health led him toward the warmth of Italy in 1869, a transition that would forever alter his destiny.
