Abraham Manievich: Pioneer of Belarusian Expressionism

Abraham Anshelovich Manievich (November 25, 1881 – June 30, 1942), born Abram Manevich, was a Ukrainian-American expressionist artist of Belarusian Jewish origin. His life journey spanned from the banks of the Dnipro river to the shores of Hudson Bay, reflecting the turbulent era of the early 20th century and marked by profound personal experiences.

Born in Mstislaw, Belarus, Manievich’s formative years instilled a deep connection to his homeland's landscape and traditions.
