sir francis bernard dicksee, a renowned english victorian painter and illustrator, was born on november 27, 1853, in london, united kingdom. his father, thomas dicksee, a painter himself, taught frank, along with his sister margaret, from a young age. this early exposure to art laid the foundation for frank's future success.rise to prominence
dicksee enrolled in the royal academy schools in 1870, achieving early success and eventually becoming a member of the academy in 1891. he was elected president in 1924 and knighted in 1925, with king george v naming him to the royal victorian order in 1927.notable works and exhibitions
