The Architecture of Silence
Born in 1963, Julien Simon has emerged as a preeminent figure in contemporary digital illustration, specifically within the realms of Sci-Fi and Cyberpunk aesthetics. His practice is defined by an unwavering devotion to what critics call the "Kubrick Space"—a visual language rooted in the rigorous geometry of Stanley Kubrick's cinematic legacy. Through his mastery of digital light, Simon constructs environments that feel both infinitely vast and claustrophobically precise.
Symmetry and Sterile Light
At the heart of Simon's work lies a profound obsession with intense one-point perspective. Each composition functions as a symmetrical corridor, drawing the viewer into a deep, mathematical vanishing point that commands absolute attention. He utilizes sterile, practical lighting to strip away the organic, leaving behind an uncanny atmosphere where shadows are as structural as the walls themselves. This meticulous approach creates a tactile silence, inviting a dialogue between the observer and the cold, luminous structures of a futuristic unknown.
