Her practice is centered on a digital plein-air approach, where the screen becomes a window into the ephemeral qualities of light. Working from her studio in Lyon, Joly captures the fleeting essence of the French landscape through a lens that marries classical observation with modern technology.
The Hockney Influence and Digital Brushwork
At the heart of Joly's oeuvre is a deep, technical dialogue with the David Hockney iPad Painting style. She masterfully utilizes digital tools to achieve smooth color transitions and clean, rhythmic outlines that define her subjects.
