artistic career

hodgkin's first solo show was in london in 1962. he represented britain at the venice biennale in 1984 and won the turner prize in 1985. in 1992, he was knighted for his services to art. hodgkin designed a mural for the british council in india, symbolizing the organization's work rooted in indian culture.

venetian views series (1995), depicting the same view of venice at different times, showcases hodgkin's innovative approach to abstraction.
