李昂五（Lee Ungno），亦被称为Yi Eungro，是一位出生于韩国首尔的法籍韩裔画家及版画家。1904年，他降生于这个充满历史底蕴的城市。他的早年求学经历在鸿城普通学校（홍성보통학교）留下了短暂却重要的印记，而真正的艺术灵魂是在1920年开始，通过师从 염재 송태호（Yeomjae Song Tae-hoe），全身心地投入于绘画的学习之中。

1922年移居首尔，标志着李昂五艺术生涯的正式开启。彼时，他成为了一位著名的书法家、画家兼摄影师海江金圭进（Haegang Kim Gyu-jin）的弟子。在他的研习过程中，他主要学习了以“海江风格”表现“四君子”的技法。值得一提的是，他那幅笔触灵动的墨竹画——墨竹（Mukjuk），曾在第三届朝鲜美术展中荣获殊荣。在殖民时期，李昂五凭借卓越的才华，接连在朝鲜美术展中斩获奖项。然而，他并未止步于传统，而是深信东方水墨画家应当推动风格的现代化。到了20世纪30年代初期，李昂五开始创作受现代东方水墨新风尚以及西方绘画自然主义表现手法影响的水墨山水画，展现出一种跨越文化的艺术视野。
