Friedrich Eibner was a German painter whose artistic soul was deeply entwined with the grandeur of the built environment. Primarily focused on architectural renditions, his work captured the structural elegance and historical weight of the landscapes he traversed. Born in Hilpoltstein, Bavaria, Eibner developed a keen eye for the interplay between light and stone, a skill nurtured through his early studies after the works of Heinrich Schönfeld. This expedition proved immensely fruitful for his legacy; Eibner produced a vast collection of drawings and watercolours, sixty-five of which were acquired by the Prince to be arranged into a magnificent facsimile album. This body of work remains a testament to his ability to translate foreign vistas into intimate, detailed records.
