His artistic inclinations were recognized early on when Louis Mantell, a teacher of music, observed the merit of his chalk drawings and arranged for him to attend the College of Art, marking the beginning of a lifelong dedication to creative expression. At the College of Art he studied alongside fellow artists like John Lavery and Augustus Edwin John, absorbing influences from Impressionism and Symbolism – movements that profoundly impacted Conor’s artistic sensibilities.
