Her characters, often animals or fantastical creatures, possess an endearing quality rooted in realistic anatomy and expressive features. However, they inhabit landscapes and scenarios that are decidedly dreamlike – filled with intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and a sense of quiet magic. This isn’t the bombastic fantasy of epic battles; it's a more introspective realm, one focused on atmosphere, emotion, and subtle symbolism. Her illustrations often evoke a feeling of nostalgia, tapping into childhood memories and universal themes of exploration, friendship, and belonging.

International Recognition and Major Achievements

Drews’ talent hasn’t gone unnoticed. Her books have found readership in over seventeen countries, testament to the universality of her visual language.
