Tidig liv och utbildning
Arthur Hughes, en brittisk målare och illustratör associerad med de pre-rafaelitiska brödraskapet, föddes i London den 27 januari 1832. År 1846 började han på konstskolan vid Somerset House, där hans första mästare var Alfred Stevens. Senare studerade han vid Royal Academy Schools, där han kom i kontakt med John Everett Millais och Holman Hunt, vilket ledde till att han blev en del av den pre-rafaelitiska gruppen av målare.Kända verk och stil
Hughes första målning, Musidora, ställdes ut på Royal Academy när han bara var 17 år gammal.
