Carlos Somonte, born in Mexico City in 1956, is a photographer whose work transcends mere documentation; it’s an immersive exploration of the human condition against the backdrop of Mexico's diverse landscapes. His artistic journey began with studies in biology at Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM), Cuernavaca, grounding him in observation and scientific precision – qualities that would later inform his photographic approach. A postgraduate degree in photography at PTC London solidified his technical skills and broadened his artistic horizons.
