Artists associated with this movement – including Santi di Tito, Domenico Cresti (Il Passignano), Lodovico Cigoli, Jacopo Chimenti da Empoli, Andrea Boscoli, and Gregorio Pagani – sought to restore clarity, naturalism, and emotional resonance to their work.
