The History of Coughton Court The Throckmorton family has been associated with Coughton Court for over six centuries. The family's presence at the site began in the early 15th century, when John de Throckmorton, who served as Under Treasurer of England to Henry VI, acquired the estate through his marriage to Eleanor de Spiney. While some records suggest the family arrived in 1409, others place their establishment at the site in 1412.

Thomas Phillips

Early Life and Artistic Foundations Thomas Phillips, født i Dudley i Worcestershire i 1770, steg opp fra relativt beskjedne begynnelser for å bli en fremtredende figur i den britiske kunstscenen på slutten av det 18. og tidlig på 19. århundre. Hans første kunstneriske trening ble ikke gjennomført innenfor de tradisjonelle grensene for maleri, men snarere i håndverkets verden – glassmaling under Francis Eginton i Birmingham.
