Alison Wilding is best-known as an abstract sculptor, who works with a range of materials, from wood, stone and bronze to steel, wax and silk, often in unusual combinations. Abbot Hall mounted an exhibition of her sculpture in 1997, including a large reflective metal sculpture which was installed in the Georgian Saloon downstairs.
