Marilyn Plantz May hired her teenage boyfriend Clifford Bryson and his friend William McKimble to kill her husband James Plantz for his life insurance policy of $319,000.Entering his home after work, James Plantz was ambushed by Bryson and McKimble and beaten with baseball bats while his wife and children lay asleep in bed. Marilyn then arose and instructed Bryson and McKimble to “burn him” to make it look like an accident. 40 year old Marilyn Kay Plantz was executed on the 1st May 2001, by lethal injection at Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. Marilyn and Jim Plantz’s daughter Trina Plantz Wells, 21, appealed to the board to spare her mother’s life. Wells was reported as having cried throughout the entire hearing, having reconciled with her mother after having had no contact with her for 13 years.
