This foundational aesthetic sense would later manifest in his revolutionary approach to photography, as he transitioned from the rigid, formalist traditions of Neoclassicism toward the emotive, fluid spirit of Romanticism and eventually into the avant-garde realms of Modernism.
His artistic journey began with a precocious fascination for the camera, nurtured during his years at Saint Joseph’s Jesuit College.
