Akron Art Museum

Akron, United States of America

A Symphony of Steel and Spirit In the industrial heart of Ohio, where the echoes of a storied past meet the bold ambitions of the future, stands the Akron Art Museum —a sanctuary where modernity breathes through glass and light. To step into this institution is to embark on a journey through time, moving from the quiet, dignified halls of its 1899 Italian Renaissance revival foundation into a breathtaking architectural dialogue with the contemporary world. The museum’s evolution, which began in 1922 within the modest confines of a public library basement, mirrors the very essence of artistic growth: a persistent, beautiful striving toward new horizons.

아티스트 Kevin Jerome Everson 소개

1965, United States of America

Kevin Jerome Everson

The Poetic Realism of Kevin Jerome Everson In the vast landscape of contemporary American art, few voices capture the rhythmic pulse of labor and the quiet dignity of the working class as intimately as Kevin Jerome Everson. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, in 1965, Everson has cultivated a multidisciplinary practice that transcends the boundaries between film, painting, sculpture, and photography. His work serves as a profound chronicle of human movement and social reality, weaving together the threads of African American migration and the grit of industrial life. Through his lens—both literal and metaphorical—the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and the overlooked moments of manual labor are elevated to the status of high art.
