아티스트 Gheorghe Șaru 소개
1920–2003, Romania
Gheorghe Șaru
The Luminous Legacy of Gheorghe Șaru Gheorghe Șaru, known to many as George Saru, was a painter whose life and work served as a bridge between the rich traditions of Romanian folk art and the experimental frontiers of European modernism. Born on February 29, 1920, in Checea, Romania, his journey began in a landscape shaped by post-war austerity, yet his artistic vision remained remarkably expansive. As a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts in 1948, Șaru was deeply influenced by the master Jean Alexandru Steriadi. This early period of his life was defined by a rigorous pursuit of technique and an exploration of the stylistic currents of Cubism and Expressionism.
