Born in Casablanca, Morocco, in 1961 to a family steeped in artistry – his mother, Alegria, was a painter, and his father, Meyer, a hairdresser – Elbaz’s early life nurtured a keen eye for beauty and form. From Morocco to Parisian Couture

Elbaz’s path to fashion prominence wasn't immediate. After studying at the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem, he embarked on a period of apprenticeship and exploration, honing his skills across various ateliers. He spent time working with Geoffrey Beene in New York, then moved to Paris where he contributed to Guy Laroche and Yves Saint Laurent.
