Charles-François Daubigny was a French painter, representative of the Barbizon School, and an important precursor of Impressionism. His early traditional style changed when he met Camille Corot in 1852. He came under the influence of Gustave Courbet from 1852 onward. Daubigny for his part influenced Claude Monet, who he got to know in 1866 when he visited England.The Painting
