Primi Anni e Formazione

Nata: 27 ottobre 1971, Guayaquil, Ecuador
Suo padre era un ingegnere che si è laureato presso l'Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL).
Ha conseguito una laurea in Ingegneria Meccanica presso ESPOL.
Ha proseguito i suoi studi presso la Rutgers University nel New Jersey.
Ha ottenuto un Master e un Dottorato di ricerca in Scienza dei Materiali e Ingegneria dalla Rutgers.

Carriera all'Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL)

Si è unita alla facoltà ESPOL nel 2001, impegnandosi in attività di ricerca e insegnamento.
Promossa a professore ordinario nel 2006.
Ha ricoperto posizioni come Vice-Decano.
È stata Direttore dei Test Materiali.
Ha diretto il Centro per la Ricerca e lo Sviluppo in Nanotecnologia della Politécnica.

Rettore dell'ESPOL

Nominata Vice-Rettore ESPOL nel 2012 sotto il Rettore Sergio Flores Macías.
È diventata Rettrice ESPOL nel 2017 – la prima donna a ricoprire questa posizione nella storia di 59 anni dell'ESPOL.
Sotto la sua guida, l'ESPOL è stata classificata tra le prime 100 università in America Latina (numero 74) nel 2021.
