Born in 1930 in Szolnok, Hungary, Racko’s artistic journey was one of movement and metamorphosis, eventually finding its spiritual and creative anchor in Košice, Slovakia. His life's work serves as more than mere decoration; it is a monumental exploration of human experience, capturing the very essence of Slovak identity through the tactile language of bronze, stone, and ceramic.
Racko’s artistic foundation was forged in the prestigious halls of Prague’s Academy of Creative Arts. Under the meticulous guidance of Professor Jan Lauda, he developed a technical mastery that would become his hallmark. This period of intense study allowed him to absorb the rigorous traditions of Czech masters such as Josef Václav Myslbek and Jan Štursa, blending classical precision with a burgeoning interest in modern sensibilities. His early exposure to European avant-garde movements—specifically the dreamlike abstractions of Surrealism and the structural discipline of Constructivism—infused his work with a unique tension between the subconscious and the physical world.
