His journey began with an early fascination for calligraphy—a passion ignited at the age of twelve when his teacher recognized his exceptional handwriting skills. This formative experience propelled him toward a deep immersion in Arabic calligraphy, nurtured by his studies at Saint Savior Convent in Joun, Lebanon, where he gained access to rare and ancient Arabic books, shaping his artistic vision profoundly. The influence of these scholarly pursuits extended beyond mere technique; it instilled within him an appreciation for the visual language of Islam and its ability to convey complex ideas with elegance and precision. Recognizing this potential, Al-Sayegh pursued a degree in Art History from École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, broadening his understanding of Western artistic traditions while simultaneously grounding himself in Eastern aesthetics. Returning to Lebanon after completing his studies, he established himself as a respected journalist and writer for prominent publications like Lissan al-Hal newspaper and Finoun Arabia, securing recognition within the Middle Eastern art world and providing him with a platform to disseminate his ideas.
