Hänen taivaillaan on tiettyä painavuutta.

Jo vuonna 1738 hän maalasi teoksen Rio dei Mendicanti with the Scuola di San Marco (detail), joka osoittaa hänen varhaisen kykynsä hallita venetsialaisen arkkitehtuurin monimutkaisia yksityiskohtia. Italian halki tehdyillä matkoilla hänen katseensa siirtyi kohti urbaanin elämän suurempaa mittakaavaa. Vuonna 1747 hän loi teoksen View of Verona and the River Adige from the Ponte Nuovo, vangiten taidokkaasti joen virran kulun kaupungin läpi.

Vuonna 1748 hän loi teoksen View of Dresden from the Right Bank of the Elbe with the Augustus Bridge, näkymän, joka tallensi kaupungin rakenteen hämmästyttävällä selkeydellä. Myöhemmin hänen Wienissä tekemänsä työt sisälsivät muun muassa Dominican Church -kirkon (1758) ja teoksen Vienna, Panorama from Palais Kaunitz (1759).

Hän viimeisteli vuonna 1773 teoksen View of Warsaw from the Royal Palace (detail), tarjoten yksityiskohtaisen ikkunan Puolan pääkaupunkiin.

Hänen yhteytensä juuriinsa on edelleen nähtävissä Venetsiassa, missä Gallerie dell'Accademia di Venezia vaalii hänen varhaisia perspektiivejään.
