Kovač’s artistic journey is marked by a rigorous academic foundation. After graduating from Mathematical High School, he pursued studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he earned his M.A. in 2002 and later achieved his Doctor of Art degree in 2016. This blend of mathematical precision and fine art training perhaps informs the rhythmic quality found in his compositions. His exploration of visual theory was furthered at the School for History and Theory of Images at the Center for Contemporary Art in Belgrade, allowing him to weave complex layers of meaning into works that often draw from Pop Art, graphic design, and street art aesthetics.

Narratives of Space and Time

The thematic heart of Kovač’s oeuvre lies in his ability to capture the intimacy of shared and solitary spaces. In series such as Empty Time, he presents snapshots of life—moments where two people might share a room yet remain lost in their own internal worlds. • Academic Leadership: Serving as a professor at the Academy of Applied Technical Studies in Belgrade and holding the position of Head of Department for Fine and Digital Arts at Belgrade Polytechnic College.
• Editorial Work: Co-founding and editing the online magazine Supervizuelna, a platform dedicated to contemporary art and visual culture.
• Musical Expression: Finding rhythm in another medium as the bass guitarist for the alternative rock band Jarboli.
