He graduated from Shorewood High School and later attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His paternal grandfather, Leonard Zucker, emigrated from Russia to the United States and became a naturalized citizen, a detail that speaks to the family’s immigrant history.

      The Kentucky Fried Theater Roots

      Zucker's early career blossomed with Jim Abrahams and his brother, David Zucker, performing as a sketch and comedy troupe called the Kentucky Fried Theater in Madison, Wisconsin.
