      nuoruus ja koulutus

      Charles Harold Davis, yhdysvaltalainen maisemamaalari, syntyi 7. tammikuuta 1856 Amesburyssa, Massachusettsissa. Boston Museum of Fine Arts -museon oppilaana hänet lähetettiin Pariisiin vuonna 1880 hioimaan taitojaan. Opiskellessaan Académie Julianissa mestareiden Jules Joseph Lefebvre ja Gustave Boulangerin johdolla, Davis kehitti syvällisen ymmärryksen eurooppalaisesta taidemaailmasta.

      Davisin teoksia leimaavat seesteiset ja idylliset maisemakuvaukset, jotka vangitsevat luonnon kauneuden äärimmäisellä tarkkuudella.
