Adrian Jones was born in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, on February 9, 1845, the fourth son of James Brookholding Jones and Jane Marshall. Despite his father’s reservations about pursuing art as a profession, Jones defied convention and enrolled in the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1866, securing his qualification as a veterinary surgeon.
