John Constable Reeve, nacido en Valley Farm, Sproughton, Ipswich, en 1929, fue hijo de Clarence Victor Reeve y Mabel Rose Wright. Tras el matrimonio de sus padres en Ipswich en 1921, creció junto a su hermana, Diana Rose Reeve.
