In 1935, she and her sister, Doris Zinkeisen, were commissioned by John Brown & Company to create murals for the ship's opulent verandah grill room. Utilizing a disused operating theatre as her studio, she meticulously documented the realities of wartime injuries – creating detailed pathological drawings for the Royal College of Surgeons alongside poignant depictions of air-raid victims and hospital life.
