She studied under Ford Madox Brown, Cave Thomas, and Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, as well as at the British Museum. Her work was exhibited across Great Britain and Europe, including at the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, and the Paris Salon. While she was known for her landscapes, particularly those from her travels to Cornwall and Norway, some of her most recognized works are portraits.
