Samuel Lane was an English portrait painter born in King’s Lynn on July 26, 1780. A profound deafness acquired during childhood profoundly shaped his life trajectory, influencing not only his personal experiences but also fundamentally altering the course of his artistic endeavors. Despite this challenge, Lane persevered with unwavering determination, pursuing his passion for art and establishing himself as a prominent figure in Victorian portraiture.
