Early Life and Education in Freiburg Born on May 28, 1873, in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, Wilhelm Haller entered a world where the brush was already a familiar presence. He was the son of Konrad Haller, a man who earned his living as a decorative painter. This early exposure to the craft meant that the language of color and form was part of the household atmosphere from his earliest years. Even as a child and throughout his youth, h
