Early Life and Artistic Training Vincenc Beneš entered the world on 22 January 1883 in Lišice, Bohemia, within the borders of Austria-Hungary. His early years in the region provided the foundation for a life dedicated to the visual arts. Before entering the formal academies, he attended the real gymnasium in Hradec Králové from 1896 to 1902, a period of academic preparation that preceded his professional training. His formal education
was marked by a progression through Prague's most esteemed institutions. Between 1902 and 1904, Beneš studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Seeking to further refine his technical command, he moved to the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, where he remained from 1904 until 1907.
