Sonia Ebling de Kermoal: A Pioneer of Brazilian Sculpture Early Life and Education Sonia Ebling (born in Taquara, Brazil in 1918, died 2006) was a prominent Brazilian sculptor and educator. She began her artistic journey studying both painting and sculpture at the Schools of Fine Arts of Rio Grande do Sul and Rio de Janeiro between 1944 and 1951.
