Raný život a vzdelanie

Sir Edward John Poynter, 1. baronet GCVO, PRA (narodený 20. marca 1836 – zomrel 26. júla 1919), bol popredným anglickým maliarom, dizajnérom a kresličom. Ako prezident Kráľovskej akadémie si zabezpečil trvalé miesto v dejinách viktoriánskeho umenia. Poynter sa narodil v Paríži vo Francúzsku ako syn architekta Ambrose Poyntera, hoci jeho rodina sa neskoro vrátila do Británie.
