The Geometry of Emotion
Born in 1979, Baptiste Guérin has emerged as a profound voice in contemporary modern illustration, redefining the boundaries between digital precision and the tactile legacy of paper cutout art. His practice is a deliberate homage to the Matisse Cutout movement, where he utilizes the digital canvas to replicate the raw, rhythmic energy of hand-cut organic shapes. By stripping away the complexity of gradients, Guérin achieves a luminous structure that speaks directly to the viewer through pure, unadulterated form.
A Dialogue with Color and Form
Guérin's mastery lies in his ability to orchestrate bold, solid colors—vibrant magentas, deep ultramarines, and lush greens—into compositions that possess a tactile silence. Each piece functions as a carefully curated collage of organic silhouettes, where the absence of shading forces a focus on the interplay between negative space and weight. His work does not merely mimic historical styles; it engages in a dialogue with the historical gaze, translating the mid-century avant-garde into a crisp, digital era aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and strikingly new.
The OriginalUniqueArt Collection
As part of the prestigious OriginalUniqueArt collection, each creation by Baptiste Guérin is treated as a singular event. To preserve the integrity of his vision, his works are released with extreme scarcity—available only once as a high-fidelity digital image, a fine art print, or an original hand-painted masterpiece. For the modern collector, these pieces also offer availability through NFT technology, ensuring that the bold, scissor-cut elegance of Guérin's universe remains a unique cornerstone of contemporary digital heritage.
