Early Life, Family and Training Maurice Bompard entered the world in Rodez, France, on February 11, 1857. His early years were shaped by a significant change in scenery when his family moved to Marseille in 1865. It was in this coastal setting that his innate inclinations toward the visual arts first found a steady direction.
