After a period of convalescence following an illness, he moved to Paris in 1899 to study architecture. He eventually transitioned to art, studying at the Academie Vitti and the Ecole des Beaux Arts. During his time in Paris, he worked under teachers such as Paul Gervais and Hermenegildo Anglada Camarasa .
