John Leech

Early Life and Education John Leech (født August 29, 1817 i London) var en fremtredende viktoriansk karikaturist og illustratør kjent for *Punch*-tidsskriftens satiriske humor og Dickens’ illustrasjoner som *A Christmas Carol*. Hans far var av irsk opphav og drev London Coffee House på Ludgate Hill. Hans mor nedstammet fra familien til Richard Bentley. Leech viste tidlig kunstnerisk talent; allerede tre år gammel beundret skulptøren John Flaxman hans tegning og oppmuntret ham til å følge kunst frit.
