José Gurvich (1927 – 1974)
Scopri José Gurvich (1927-1974), fondamentale pittore costruttivista, ceramista e musicista uruguaiano. Esplora le sue astrazioni geometriche, i colori vivaci e le opere simboliche influenzate dal Taller Torres García.
This work is structured by means of a grid that divides the surface into different spaces loaded with symbolic elements. José Gurvich, in the search for new expressive languages, tries to escape from the orthogonal grid, organizing the composition in a more open and liberated way. The play of the curvilinear outline frames the succession of ivory and black, highlighting the textures of incision and carving on the wood. The contrasting sumptuousness of the chiaroscuro reveals the forms of Gurvich
