A skandináv művészettörténet egyik legmélyebb és legmeghatóbb hangját Laurits Andersen Ring adta át a világnak. 1854. augusztus 15-én született Sjælland déli részén, a csendes Ring faluban, és már neve is a föld esszenciáját hordozza, amelyből származik.
