Russian rule. Following the uprising's suppression, Kwiatkowski emigrated to France, seeking refuge and artistic opportunity. This emigration proved pivotal in shaping his career. In Paris, he rigorously studied painting under the tutelage of Léon Cogniet, a prominent French academic painter.
