The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park jointly presented, in 2015, a survey of work from over 50 years, with a focus on Caro’s interest in architecture and painting respectively. The exhibition traced Caro’s interest in architectural principles from early abstract works throughout his remarkable career, drawing out the connections between the two fields and how Caro aimed, in his words, ‘to make the art I was trying to make more real, more to do with a response to life.’
