The Life and Art of Giuseppe Diotti

Born in Casalmaggiore, he began his training as an apprentice to Paolo Araldi before studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Parma under Gaetano Callani. Later, Diotti arrived in Milan, where he learned from the luminosity and sense of colour found in Emilian fresco painting practiced by Andrea Appiani. In 1804, a scholarship allowed him to study in Rome under Vincenzo Camuccini.
