Early Life, Family and Training Charles Spindler was born on March 11, 1865, in Bœrsch, Alsace. He was born into a family of professional standing, the son of a notary. While his father’s path was rooted in law, Charles’s trajectory was set early through familial influence. At the age of twelve, he began formal training when he was enrolled in drawing classes. His uncle, Louis-Pierre Spindler, was a painter who recognized the boy's apt
