Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (1866-1944) stands as a monumental figure in the history of art, not merely for his prolific output but fundamentally for his radical vision – the creation of pure abstraction. Born in Moscow into a family steeped in culture and travel – his great-grandmother was a Mongolian princess – Kandinsky’s early life fostered an appreciation for diverse artistic traditions.
